Two weeks to go! (Volunteers needed)

Thank you to everyone who helped out during our Weekend of Action! We identified hundreds of new library supporters by knocking on over 1,100 doors. Great work!

This election is going to be very close. Already, voter turnout is sky high.

We need 7,500 YES votes to win the election. To date, we still need to find another 1,700 library supporters before Election Day. We can do this if we have just seven volunteers complete a shift every day between now and May 16. Please sign up to volunteer by calling Campaign Coordinator Kevin at 503-927-8189.

There also seems to be some misinformation going around, and we’d like to address that with our Frequently Asked Question of the week:

Question: Will people inside the new library district boundary have to pay for everyone in Josephine County to have libraries?

Answer: Absolutely not! People who live inside the new library district will pay for library services and be allowed to check out books, use the computers, and receive a library card. Those living outside the new library district will have three ways they can opt in to pay for services:

  1. Fill out paperwork with the County to join the district.
  2. Purchase a library card annually.
  3. Become a volunteer and work a certain number of hours to receive a card.

Anyone will be able to visit the library during open hours, but without a library card, they will not be able to check out books or other materials.

Thanks for your continued support,
